KKTTA Practicing Place Temporary Closed

Read the following note on the notice board put up by the Hon Secretary of KKTTA so that you wont waste the time and trip to the practicing place.

As requested by the Sabah Sports Board, The KKTTA practicing place at Asrama Canteen, Likas Sports Complex will be closed from May 17-30 2006.

KK Table Tennis Open Championship 2006 Results

The KK Table Tennis Open Championship 2006 was held on May 12-14 2006 at the practice venue of KKTTA next to Asrama Canteen, Likas Sports Complex.
This is in sequel to the tournament for the New Hope,Hope and Youth categories on April 29-30. The tournament this time is for the Open and SUKMA categories.

Parents/Spouse/Kids Tournament

The KK Table Tennis Association (KKTTA) is organising a parent-kid/parent-spouse tournament on June 24-25 2006 at the training room next to the Asrama canteen, Likas.
There are 3 categories :

• Parent-Spouse
• Parent-Kid Under 13
• Parent-Kid Above 13

Each parent is allowed to take part in only one of the Parent-Kid categories but is allowed to participate in both Parent-Spouse and one of the Parent-Kid categories together.

Closing date is June 20 2006 7.00pm
Entry Fees RM10.00 per entry

So parents take out your dust-covered ping pong pads (rackets) and practice with your kids and have a fun filled and exciting week-end on June 24-25.

Sabah Wants to Host Malaysia Under-10 Table Tennis Tournament 2006

Secretary-General of STTA Peter Shim

Sabah Table Tennis Association will request from the Malaysia Table Tennis Association to host the Malaysia Under-10 Table Tennis Tournament 2006 in Kudat. The committee of STTA had convened a meeting and passed the above mention resolution, and will submit the requst soon. Its secretary-general, Peter Shim told reporters that STTA is confident that it will be a competent host for such an event because it had played host to many major tournaments in the past. STTA has just successfully held the 25th Malaysia Youth Table Tennis Tournament last year.
Peter Shim also announced that STTA would be conducting training for aspiring coaches in Sabah (both west coast and east coast) in July and August. He urged those interested to be on the look out for the actual dates.

KK Table Tennis Youth Open Championship 2006

KK Table Tennis Youth Open Championship 2006 organised by the KKTTA was held successfully at the KKTTA training ground next to the Asrama Canteen, Likas on April 29-30 2006. The biggest upset was Theophilus Tan (U13) who beats more experienced youth state players like Alan Albert Au and Leong Kah Jun to take 2nd place in the (U17) group.

It is announced by the KKTTA honorary secretary that the above winners still have to go through the selection matches, to be arranged by the KKTTA later, in order to be selected to represent Sabah state.

The Open and SUKMA categories matches will held at the same venue on May 12-14 2006.
