The main sponsor for the above mentioned table tennis tournament, Putra Theatre Restaurant (Air-Conditioned) has agreed to host and sponsor it after last year's laspe. It's great news!
The event is organised by the Kota Kinabalu Table Tennis Association (KKTTA). The organising chairman is Edward Chua,Secretary is Chieng Shaw An, treasurer is John Hong,vice chairman Chin Hon Kong.
There will be 2 categories :
- Premier :
- 5 singles + 2 doubles (best 4 of 7)
- May include only 1 import player (from other Malaysia States)
- Import player will be seeded
- May include only 2 from top 10 ranked male players or top 5 ranked female players in the state from previous tournaments (2004 and 2005), and he/she will be seeded. (List of ranked players can be obtained from KKTTA).
- Each player can only take part in one single game and one double game each match.
- 1st single and 2nd single can not be paired to form a double team.
- Entrance fees : RM150.00
Prizes :
- Champion : RM1,600.00 cash + RM1,600.00 worth of meal voucher
- 1st Runner Up : RM1,100.00 cash + RM1,100.00 worth of meal voucher
- 2nd Runner Up : RM500.00 cash + RM500.00 worth of meal voucher
- Challenge Trophy
- Each of the top 3 winning teams will receive 6 pieces of medals
2. Novice :
- 3 singles + 2 doubles (best 3 of 5)
- 1st single and 2nd single can not be paired to form a double team
- Each player can only take part in one single match and one double match
- Entrance fees : RM80.00
Prizes :
- Champion : RM800.00 cash + RM800.00 worth of meal voucher
- 1st Runner Up : RM500.00 cash + RM500.00 worth of meal vaoucher
- 2nd Runner Up : RM300.00 cash + RM300.00 worth of meal voucher
- Each of the top 3 winning teams will receive 6 pieces of medals
