The KK team emerged the champion this time dashing the hope of the Tawau team to retain the title for the 11th consecutive years. Tawau team had to settle for the 2nd place, while Keningau team took 3rd place.
This tournament also served as a venue to select the Sabah state team. The selected players had left for Melaka from Tawau directly in order to be in time to participate in the nation wide youth championship which began on Monday. Sabah will be sending only the Hope Cadet (U15) category Boys/Girls teams because they have very good chances to win medals.
